Nice to meet you. I’m Catherine.

As a writer, speaker, group facilitator and singer with over 40 years of experience leading workshops and retreats, I provide inspiration and support for personal growth for a wide variety of events.

My first book, A Trail of Breadcrumbs, is the foundation for many offerings which I look forward to delivering. I feel my job in the world right now is to create trustworthy and creative containers within which individuals can explore their inner world and bring about transformation. As we heal and grow, so does the world.

Why did I write a book?

Writing began for me when I started a journal in eighth grade. My mother's mental illness had cast a dark shadow over my entire thirteen years, and journaling became a way to speak, to be heard, and to tell my stories (though my journals were locked in my sewing box until I moved out on my own.)

From my Breadcrumbs introduction - "Some of the focus for my writing has been my efforts to survive trauma, heal from its destructive legacies, and emerge from underneath the secrets surrounding it. I have also written about trying to grow into a whole, authentic and compassionate person who can thrive and celebrate life. ... We are all trying to survive something or other. The 'somethings' for some are worse than for others, and we have to do our best to find the guidance and assistance needed to navigate through it. ... Some of us write to honor where we've been and to capture the light of where we want to go. And we share our writing in the hope that it will help others feel less alone."

The well-known quote attributed to Ram Dass says, "We're all just walking each other home." The writing I share is an invitation to companionship on the way.

Grounded Visions

Decades ago, when I started my business and was deciding on its name, I was envisioning all the ways I wanted to be of service while doing things that gave me joy. There were lots of things I wanted to offer to the world. I was producing music and one-woman shows, I was making custom prayer beads, and I shared my writing here and there for the hundreds of events I helped create. I wanted a name that spoke to my desire to ground and realize what I envisioned for my inner and outer life. I wanted to bring my dreams into form, and help others do the same. My friend Michael Putman – a wonderful illustrator – created the perfect logo and Grounded Visions became a reality. As my book and I go out into the world together, I hope to be a facilitator and cheerleader for many other people to make their lives more of what they want them to be.

This book is at once an easy-to-enter-and-access invitation and an opportunity for a deep dive into the kind of self-exploration that changes individuals, families, communities, and the world. Read this book and spend lots of intentional time with it. Don’t pass up this opportunity to have these two dear souls as companions on your way.
